Omnicare is a LOOP wired addressable emergency voice communication system that allows disabled refuge, fire telephones, steward telephones and disabled toilet alarms to be connected to one panel.
Omnicare can be easily networked with the ability to add multiple control panels on a system.
This enables local zone/area control with ‘gatehouse/management’ control on a master panel.
The control panel features an output for an external call indicator. This is designed for use in situations where the control panel is mounted in an unmanned area.
Using this output, a remote indicator can be fitted in a location where it is visible/heard such as in a reception area.
he output has a programmable delay feature so that calls answered at the panel are not relayed to the remote lamp/buzzer indicator.
Panel options include sizes from four-way up to 128-way and are supplied with the relevant batteries for backup should the mains power fail.
Four-way up to 128-way versions of the control panel available, in either grey or stainless steel finish.
Omnicare has been designed and built to meet BS9999:2008, BS5839-9:2011 and BS8300:2009 (for the disabled toilet alarm).

Fire telephones are used by fire officers and those responsible for the evacuation of a building during an emergency.
They provide essential communication for those in control. When operated by opening the door of the enclosure, the person(s)
managing the evacuation at the control panel can immediately see the location of the caller as this is indicated on the panel.
The fire officer at the telephone point can relay the situation and confirm if that area is clear of personnel/public before moving to the next level/area.

The fire telephone is connected to the control panel in a loop circuit and can be included with disabled refuge outstations on the same panel,
if these are required. As an option, the Omnicare system also has a combined outstation which includes both a fire telephone and a disabled refuge unit in the same enclosure.
Other outstations available include steward telephones and disabled toilet alarms.
Omnicare has been designed and built to meet BS9999:2008, BS5839-9:2011 and BS8300:2009 (for the disabled toilet alarm).

This style of outstation is typically used by stewards during an emergency.
It provides a method of clear communication between stewards in different areas, enabling up-to-date information on a situation to be conveyed.

All disabled refuge units are designed to provide two-way hands free communication between the occupier of a disabled refuge area and the person (or persons) operating the ‘control panel’.
They are designed for use in an emergency when the evacuation of a building is required – such as during a fire.
More information about disabled refuge systems can be found here.
Disabled refuge outstations for the OmniCare range come in a choice of styles – standard or Advance.
Outstations (also known as ‘remotes’) on the OmniCare system are wired in a loop configuration.

To avoid hoax calls, the disabled refuge remotes are ‘in standby’ until the master panel is triggered by the fire panel during an emergency.
However, the remotes can be set to be permanently active if this is preferred.
Please note that for systems used for ‘fire fighting’ that fire rated enhanced four-core cable should be used
(exceptions exist, please refer to BS5839-9:2011 for full details or download our ‘Relevant Standards Summary‘ document).
